Meet Erica Gayler, our beloved receptionist. Erica's been with CKUA for 11 years, and has worked for almost every department at CKUA either on a temporary or full-time basis, including the Library, Marketing, Fund Development, and for Programming as an Announcer/Producer.

Erica's favourite part of working at Reception is talking to listeners all day. "It's totally the best part of the job," she says. "Listeners are always calling in, asking about a particular song they heard or about how to change their address with us, and during campaign many people call in to donate. I like to be the helpful person in their day."

She says it can be a challenge to deal with all the calls during ticket give-aways. "Forty people will call in if it's a really popular contest - it's still fun, but a lot of work." She adds, "It can be really challenging in the winter sometimes just to be here and awake at 8:30 a.m."...

Today Erica's spending time writing thank-you cards to our donors.


Erica also processes debit card donations, and all merchandise purchases. She herself owns seven different CKUA hoodies...

There's a lot of mail to send out today, mostly due to the campaign.

Erica's almost finished her Dr. Who scarf...
